Educational review meetings provide structured opportunities for fellows and supervisors to reflect on progress, review evidence, discuss learning needs and plan future development throughout the Fellowship.
The Fellowship uses three formal Educational Supervisor meetings during the year: an initial review, a mid-point review and a completion review. Together these meetings support the fellow's progression through the curriculum while promoting reflective practice, professional development and individualised learning.

Review the whole portfolio
No single assessment determines Fellowship completion. Consider the overall pattern of evidence across the year.
Look for progression
The Fellowship is developmental. Evidence should demonstrate increasing confidence, capability and clinical judgement over time.
Consider breadth, not numbers
Assess whether the fellow has demonstrated broad experience across the curriculum and supportive oncology settings, rather than simply completing the minimum number of assessments.
Use professional judgement
The Educational Supervisor's recommendation and portfolio evidence should inform, but not replace, the reviewer's independent educational judgement.
Identify development where needed
If evidence is insufficient, identify clearly what additional evidence or development would support Fellowship completion. The aim is to support learning wherever possible.
